      Description

After some deliberation, the consensus is that we need an option to email students from the learner's tab in Monitor.

Attached, you can find the mockup interface for it. The idea is to have a button in the learners' bar next to the View time chart button (email00.png).

So if the teacher clicks it, then it should see (thickbox?) where the teacher is able to write an email in plain text and send the message.

The email will be sent on behave of the teacher though (with the teacher's email address in LAMS) to the learner's email address registered in LAMS. We have email user functionality in sysadmin (see Find Users image01) where you can email any student (image 02). So we could, if require move this to central and reuse this.

Please check that there's a valid email addresses before the interface loads to avoid malformed emails and all.

Marcin, you raised the issue that if the learner tab only shows people that have already started the lesson. So the email option won't be available for them.

So I added a new picture (see instant-email.png) as it has a new email icon when the teacher clicks on it, it can send a message to him/her.

Alternatively, if it's easier, just make the name clickable and on click trigger the send email feature. Just makes sure you put a label explaining it.

        Thanks!
