      Description

Reported by Kristian Besley1. Forum: Months are in English.

Below is a list of issues which I've found during our proofing of the Welsh LAMS. Just to let you know the context, where I mention English and Welsh in the same point, I was actually running the same sequence with an English and Welsh learner on two machines.

      2. Forum: Welsh has '06 December 2006 23:07:29 o'clock EST'. English has different time '6 February 2007 08:50:52 PM EST'. IE Welsh clock is 2 months behind!

      3. Forum, Submit Files: Welsh has "o'clock" in it. Clock is also 24 hr in Welsh (and is set to 20:56 instead of 8:56am!). English is 8:56am. Both times based on same forum posting!

      4. Author: When saving with issues ( e.g. a missing transition) in Welsh, the table headers for 'Validation Issues' screen are in English: 'Activity' and 'Issue'. Phrases appear to be in 'LAMS Authoring' list, but don't appear to be live.

      5. Submit Files (Learner): on uploading nothing, the errors are partially English and partial Welsh:

'Mae Upload File name yn ofynnol' and 'Mae File Description yn ofynnol'

the field names for the form fields is actually in Welsh, so the translated phrases are in the list.

      6. Chat Monitoring: On the Statistics tab, the phrase 'No. of posts' remains in English. However, 'Learner' is displayed in the correct Welsh phrase.

I think entry 6, about Chat, might actually be fixed, but I couldn't be certain.

        Mitch,

Can you have a look at #4 please. This appears to be a bug in the Flash code - I have confirmed the problem occurs with both Spanish and Welsh, so its probably an issue with all languages.

#5 is fixed. When getting a message resource in struts, we need to explicitly set the locale, otherwise it will just use the default locale (US English). The struts implementation of getResource() DOESN'T pick up the struts preferred locale setting .

Points 4 through 6 are fixed.

Points 1 through 3 are outstanding - there isn't an easily solution to these ones.

Issue being moved to the next release.
