I have managed to run LAMS in postgres by using this script.
I installed LAMS in MySQL, dump the LAMS db, run this script and then import the output into Postgres 8.2.x. Changed the mysql settings in LAMS to talk to Postgres instead and bang! LAMS is working with postgres. Also, I have found commercial scripts to do the same with Oracle (http://convert-in.com/sql2ora.htm) so potentially this would be the same case. Thanks Hibernate! -- Now SQL scripts for upgrades are a total different issue. I guess one would have to be a lot more careful with upgrades when not using the automatic installers we provide.
